Five Gables Inn Guest Information

Welcome to the Five Gables Inn. We are delighted to be your hosts.

Your comfort is extremely important to us. If there is anything we can do to make your stay with us more of a success, please let us know. The following information about the inn is intended to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We hope you have a wonderful visit.

Heat and Air Conditioning: For your comfort each guest room has its own individual Heat & Air Conditioning system. Operating instructions for your unit are listed below. To conserve energy, please turn down the heat/AC when leaving your room. Additionally an extra blanket is stored in the closet or in one of the drawers in your room.

Concierge Service: To help you enjoy your stay at the Five Gables we are glad to offer suggestions on all that the Boothbay peninsula has to offer. Whether you need; recommendations or reservations for dinner, boating cruises, local hikes and drives, advice on where to shop and where to get picnic supplies or arranging for a taxi service to provide transportation to and from Boothbay’s fine restaurants, we would be delighted to help you plan your trip to Maine’s amazing midcoast.

Breakfast: Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 9:30 in the Common Room. Our “made from scratch menu” changes daily and includes both a sweet and savory entrée and fresh baked treat. Our multi course breakfast will be served to you in the Common Room or weather permitting on the porch overlooking Linekin Bay. Additionally to reduce congestion and provide additional space we will limit the number of people eating at any one time. To accomplish this we will have designated seating times and ask guests to reserve a time when they would like to eat.

For those early risers, coffee will be available in the Common Room beginning at 6:30 am and will be served to you during breakfast.

Please advise us the day before if you have any special dietary needs or if you need to leave before 8:00 AM

Afternoon Tea & Refreshments: Offered every afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 PM in the Common Room. Afternoon refreshments, including a variety of specialty teas, flavored coffee, bottled Maine spring water plus Susan’s homemade cookies, will be served by our staff from the kitchen.

Essentials: An afternoon or evening cocktail on the porch looking out over Liniken Bay or in front of a roaring fire in the Common room is a nice way to end the day. Guests are welcome to bring the beverage of your choice. We can provide the other essentials; ice, water glasses, wine glasses, corkscrews and bottled spring water.

Porch Hours: The Porch is available from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM. We have several guests rooms off the Porch and want to consider these guests.

Wi-Fi: We have WiFi throughout the inn. The Five Gables Inn network is available for guest use and does not require a password. If you need use of a computer or need to print a document please let us know and we will be glad to help.

The Dock: The public dock is across the street. You may swim or just relax on the dock and enjoy the view. We have beach towels available for your use, just stop by the front desk.

Check Out: Check out is 11:00 AM. Stay longer if you like – all day is fine. You can leave your car in our lot, use the Common Room and first floor restroom, or just relax on the porch.

Smoking: The Five Gables Inn is a non-smoking inn and property.

Fireplaces: If you are in one of our 3 guest rooms with a fireplace, we ask that you observe the following:

Only use the pressed wood log that we provide. Burn only one log at a time and read the instructions on the paper before lighting the paper wrapper.
Keep the log to the back of the fireplace and away from the screen or glass doors.
Ask anyone on the staff when you need another log.
If your fireplace has a glass screen keep it closed during use. Smoke in the room will cause the fire alarm in your room to sound.

Notions Basket: You will find a basket in your room (in one of the drawers) with a few items you may find handy – a needle and thread, an extra light bulb, a pen, etc. An iron and ironing board are available from the front desk.

Country Plumbing: Please put toilet paper only in the system!

Assistance: We are available in the inn from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. You will usually find us in the reception area or in the kitchen; come on in we are happy to see you. If you need assistance after 9:00 PM please call us at 207-633-4551 on your cell phone or room phone.

Key: Please try to remember to leave it at the front desk when you check out.

EMERGENCY: for all police, fire or medical emergencies dial: 911 on your cell phone or 9-911 on your in room phone.
